PSJA ISD announces second National Board Candidacy Cohort for Educator Excellence

PHARR – Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD (PSJA ISD) is proud to announce the selection of 15 educators for its second National Board Candidacy Cohort, a prestigious program aimed at developing National Board-Certified Teachers. This initiative reflects the district’s continued dedication to supporting and rewarding teaching excellence. 

Through programs like the National Board Candidacy, the Principal Residency Grant, and the Teacher Incentive Allotment, PSJA ISD remains committed to investing in its educators and enhancing the quality of education across the district. 

Congratulations to the following educators selected for this prestigious opportunity:

The National Board Certification, developed by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, is recognized as the gold standard of professional certification in K-12 education.  

To qualify, teachers must have at least three years of professional experience, hold a valid state teaching certificate, and commit to the rigorous program. 

“We are excited to support these educators in their journey to becoming National Board-Certified Teachers,” said PSJA Superintendent Dr. Alejandro Elias. “This is a milestone that will further strengthen our classrooms and elevate student success.” 

This National Board Candidacy initiative will enhance classroom leadership and contribute to student achievement across the district.
