PSJA Memorial ECHS Junior Among Nation’s Top 100 Selected for Prestigious LEDA Scholar Program

Student to participate in 5-week summer leadership program at Yale and Princeton

ALAMO, TX – PSJA Memorial Early College High School (ECHS) junior Naomi Perez has been selected as a 2026 Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA) Scholar and will participate in a prestigious five-week summer leadership program at Yale and Princeton universities. The highly competitive national program identifies and supports high-achieving students with strong leadership potential.

LEDA, is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students from first-generation and economically disadvantaged backgrounds pursuing their academic and leadership goals through comprehensive college access programing, mentorship, and career readiness resources.

Naomi was selected as part of a distinguished cohort of 100 students from across the country recognized for their academic achievements, character, and commitment to leadership. Through the LEDA program, she will receive intensive support as she prepares for admission to highly selective colleges and universities.

“I am excited and honored to have been selected to be a part of the LEDA program,” said Perez. “PSJA ISD prepared me to apply for this program by helping my resume shine during the application program. This district has opened up doors to college classes, extracurriculars, and AP Classes, which helped fill up my resume and have also helped build me into the person I am now. I am grateful for the opportunities PSJA has offered and I hope to represent my district among students from across the nation!”

As a LEDA Scholar, Naomi will participate in the LEDA Summer Institute, a five-week program held at Princeton and Yale University, where she will receive leadership training, writing instruction, and college preparation support. Beyond this summer experience, LEDA provides long-term guidance, including mentorship, college advising, and career development opportunities throughout college and beyond.
